Eating and Painting, who would guess it could be therapeutic?

Eating and Painting, who would guess it could be therapeutic?Eat Paint LoveOffering Eat Paint Love as a one day retreat was transformational for me as a leader. Melissa approached me to co-teach the one day retreat this past Fall and we offered the retreat in December.I had not painted anything creatively in 27 years. I couldn’t image what we would do with three hours of free paint time. I was inspired and got into the process. I lost complete track of time and was able to delve deep into where I am on my journey as a mother, wife, caterer, writer, grower, leader of a catering business…. For me, it opened up a new way of looking at my life. The painting allowed me the space to be in my body and to paint freely.unnamedAfter the retreat, I tuned into my body more freely and experienced my body as a vessel for my soul and not only did I begin to see the value in caring for my body, but wanted to treasure and hold the moments of discovery. It sounds so basic, but allowing for creativity really shifted for me.I attribute this to the strength of the group who participated. I asked for feedback from the group on my creation and the other participants gave me feedback on what they saw in my painting that I did not see but connected with as truths.Teaching this workshop allowed me to understand where others are on their journey and to offer my insights of my learning and understanding. Really, it is a conversation about sharing where we are and relating our experience with others. unnamed (1)It is an opportunity to be open to a new perspective.I invite you to experience your own creative process and see where it takes you!Melissa  is  a unique blend of an expressive arts therapist and business/life coach, passionate about helping women liberate their authentic voice through painting.Join Melissa and me and The Farm Institute!
